What is a helpful way to learn how to read piano notes (besides practise obviously)?

I have always played piano without reading sheet music. I know the basics of how to read the notes and recently bought some music books to learn but I am having a really hard time with it. Any helpful tips?

well if you are a first timer then put the notes on the keys…an pratic!…LOL

Well, first of all you need to kind of know the notes and be able to have your brain quickly translate the music to what keys should be played. I’ve found that flashcards are very helpful. Quiz yourself until you know them all, and can identify them quickly. Then try playing, and you should find it easier.
