Hey! I enter a piano competition with my school every year. We have three different meets: October, December, and January. I’m trying to pick two or three songs for next year to work on over the summer. The competition is 7-12th grades, and I will be a sophmore next year in level 4 of the Piano Adventures series. A few songs in my resume are:
Phantom of the Keys*
Fur Elise
Clair De Lune
Norwegian Concerto*
Tarantella
The Wedding March*
Love is in the Air (from Charlie Brown)
*used in last year’s competition where I got third
Does anyone have any suggestions? It doesn’t have to be something that would go with level 4, I start earlier so I can do more challenging pieces. Our judges seem to love really dynamic pieces, as well as faster ones. Thanks in advance!
I definitely agree about Fur Elise. Three people played it last year.
Also, I’m looking for something that I haven’t already done. I gave a few that I’ve already played to let you know what level I’m at if you aren’t familiar with Piano Adventures.
I was just re-reading my question and I noticed that I used “resume” where I meant to use “repetoire”. (sp? I’m tired, sorry) I was looking at some audition stuff right before I asked the question, so I still had my resume on my mind. Sorry!
